dc.description.abstract | Dromedaries play a very important social a and economic roles in South Tunisia. These animals are used for transportation in the Sahar, for their wool (mohair), meat and milk. Dromedary breeding contribute significantly to stabilize Saharan populations. As any other species, dromedaries are exposed to a large number of health problems that cause significant financial losses, some of these diseases are zoonotic. In collaboration with ICARDA, ENMV (National School of Veterinary Medicine of Sidi Thabet), CRDA of Tataouine, DGSV (Direction Générale des Services Vétérinaires), CNVZ (centre national de veille zoosanitaire) and IRA Drylands Institute of Medenine, a workshop was organized on dromedaries’ diseases and their importance in farming systems in south east of Tunisia it was held Thursday 4th, November in Tataouine, Several regional and national administrations involved in different aspects of diagnosis and/or control of these diseases participated to the workshop.
