Accumulation of cassava peels in cassava processing facilities is a source of environmental problems. This study promotes commercial use of cassava peels in Colombia to produce mushrooms. The main substrates for mushroom production are currently sugar cane bagasse and coffee husks. The lower price of cassava peels and proof-of-concept production of mushrooms (Pleurotus ostorellanas) on cassava peels substrate in 2018 & 2019, open the door to utilization of cassava peels by commercial mushroom farms.en_US
