| dc.description.abstract | During 1985/86 season, the following research highlights are notable. In our Barley/Livestock Systems Research, FSP scientists: a) In collaboration with the Syrian Soils Directorate expanded our on-farm fertilizer trials on barley to 22 locations. b) Successfully demonstrated, through analyses of on-station long-term rotation trials, on-farm grazing trials (with PFLP), and on-farm rotation trials, that annual sown forage legumes (vetch and lathyrus) can economically replace fallow or break continuous barley cultivation. c)Initiated, in collaboration with the Institute of Water Research, Michigan State University, the development of a CERES-N Barley crop growth model. | en_US |
