dc.description.abstractModern agriculture is facing with great challenges. Growing world population will cause a "perfect storm" of food, energy and water shortages by 2050. Demand for food and energy will jump 70% and 100%, and for fresh water by 30%, as the population tops 9 billion. We need to expand agriculture output without further constraining natural resources under climate change.en_US
