The workshop was initiated in the frame of the Project GLDC-FP3: Integrated Farm-Household Management under the Activity 3.3.6: Criteria & Indicators of ALS Sustainability. This is the second workshop, as a follow-up of the first workshop in 2018 that identified the farmer’s self-exploration of criteria and indicators (C&I) for sustainability of agricultural livelihood systems (ALS). This second workshop aimed to implement the criteria & indicators assessing sustainability of four types of ALS in the Satiri sub-district (commune), the Houet province, western Burkina Faso (also identified in 2018). The second workshop was occurred in the Kadomba village of Satiri sub-district (commune). There were 40 participants in total, belonging to six stakeholder groups: (1) farmers (FARM – 24 participants), (2) national agricultural research/educational institutes (NARS – 10 participants), (3) extension services (EXT – 2 participants), (4) agricultural vocational training (AVT – 1 participant), (5) Agricultural policy and governmental authorities (APA – 1 participant), and (6) International agricultural research in development (IARD – 2 participants). The ratio of women as participants is 25%. Farmer participants were facilitated to evaluate the sustainability of the sampled farm-households that exist in their villages. The sampled farm-households were taken from the project database collected in 2018 using two factors: (1) ALS type and (2) management option. There are 16 groups of sampled farm-households (resulting from 4 ALS types and 4 combinational interventions). Participatory multi-criteria assessments (pMCA) were done across 16 sampled farm-household groups. The result will be considered for the in-depth analysis of the project research team as the follow-up activity in 2020.en_US
