dc.description.abstract | "Monitoring tools and sampling methods for major palm borers" The lecture highlighted the importance of determining the density of insects, the economic threshold levels, and direct and indirect methods for determining or estimating the density of insects. An example of the symptoms of the stem borer infestation was presented. An elaboration on how to identify the active and inactive tunnels was made and explained the long-horned borer. At the end of the lecture, light traps and their types, the studies that have been done, and finally pheromone traps that are used for date palm borates, were presented to the palm grove digger. | en_US |
