Geographic information systems (GIS) provide a useful way to examine whether a breed can be introduced to new areas, by identifying similar environments to the place of where the breed evolved over many centuries. Allowing researchers to avoid mortalities or lower performance of the breeds when introduced in geographic areas where they are unsuitable to perform.en_US
