This visual-aided document introduces key concepts, principles and developing steps in Multi-Agent System modelling. It is noted that, more than an modeling technique, MAS is a new system modeling paradigm that aligns with Complex Adaptive System (CAS) theory and Artificial Intelligence. The added values of MAS compared to System Dynamics (SD) regarding detecting tipping points, capturing heterogeneous networks are illustrated through comparative applications of the two methods to a simple case. The examples show that, in overall model assumptions are important as they shape the modelling results.en_US
