Following an overview of the anatomical and physiological aspects of reproduction in sheep and goats that are important to AI, these guidelines describe the conditions for the set-up of low infrastructure, mobile laboratories, the choice of inseminated females and their oestrus synchronization and all other steps, e.g. sires’ training, semen collection, evaluation and processing as well as semen deposition.
