Mexico: International Maize and Wheat Improvement Center (CIMMYT).https://hdl.handle.net/20.500.11766/11405The objective of the project’s Knowledge Management (KM) Component is to contribute to the closure of adoption gaps through developing, testing and disseminating CLCA information packages to smallholders (men and women) via participatory instruments and processes. KM products intend to support the upscaling of field successes, best practices and lessons learned through the production of evidence-based recommendations for farmers, policy briefs for decision makers, and CLCA guidelines to innovation systems, including extension and advisory services. The KM approach is based on principles of the innovation systems model including participatory research, capacity building, knowledge exchange, and dissemination events. This document describes the progress on the initial plan and results per activity, which will seek to be fed back to key stakeholders (small farmers, farmers’ groups, rural women institutions, local researchers, and public and private partners) and used to support decision making towards both CLCA practices and project management/agrifood system corrections. Main results for the second year within this cross-cutting dimension include: i) 6 training events and 1 scaling workshop where 149 key stakeholders were trained, from which 114 were farmers, 30 women (26%), 84 men (74%); ii) a data collection system designed and developed and adapted specifically for each region with 5 resulting forms in Formstack and CIMMYT data collection in-house system; and iii) an infographic, audio content and technical sheets per crop were generated to inform and raise awareness on quinoa-camelid and cereal-based and livestock systems. Next year KM activities will continue to support closely the implementation of the innovation system model with research and validation plots, training activities, and functional knowledge products for local researchers, farmers and stakeholders. The KM taskforce will operate to share processes, methods and results among regions and feedback from the field work will nurture the project plan.PDFknowledge & informationparticipatory knowledge management systemsscalingclca systemslarge scale adoptionKnowledge Management Plan for CLCA Project in LAC Countries - Year IIInternal ReportTimeless limited access
